The evenings showcased not only athletic excellence but also the teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship that define our Balmoral sporting culture. Coaches shared highlights from the season, reflected on team achievements, and presented awards to students who displayed outstanding skill, dedication, and resilience both on and off the field. We were also lucky enough to have former Socceroo and Brisbane Roar A League winning captain Matt McKay attend our Football Awards Night!

Staff Spotlight: Meet Lucas!Ā
At such a young age, BSHS year 10 student Lucas is already making his mark in the kitchen!
Ā
Currently completing his school-based traineeship with us. Lucas has shown incredible dedication and passion for the culinary world.
Ā
Most recently, he worked behind the scenes at our Melbourne Cup function, helping to cater for 235 guests and plating up over 700 meals ā an impressive effort for one of our youngest team members!
Ā
Lucas hopes to continue his journey with Carina Leagues Club in the future by completing his chef apprenticeship, and we couldnāt be prouder to have him on the team.
Year 11 Aerospace Systems
Today (7 November 2025), our Year 11 Aerospace Systems students had the privilege of hearing from Chace Eldridge, a representative from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
Ā
Chace shared insights into how CASA upholds aviation safety across Australia, explaining the connection between ICAO, CASA regulations, and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Ā
Drawing on his own journeyāfrom Bachelor of Aviation graduate to QantasLink pilot and now Safety Promoter with CASAāChace inspired students to think deeply about the evolving nature of safety in aviation and its impact on airport operations.
Ā
Students linked the discussion directly to their current IA1 project, designing an overflow airport for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, exploring how federal regulations and international standards guide real-world airport design.
