Reflecting on Term 3 & 4
As we come to the end of another remarkable school year, it has been a joy to reflect on the incredible journey of transformation our Secondary students have undertaken throughout Terms 3 and 4. This semester has been rich with meaningful learning experiences, creative expressions, opportunities for service, and moments that have shaped both character and community.
Our Visual Arts students were blessed with the opportunity to visit the Geelong Art Gallery to view the prestigious Archibald Prize, drawing inspiration from Australia’s most celebrated portrait artists. Similarly, our Textiles students explored the vibrant Textiles Exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria, deepening their understanding of design, craftsmanship, and artistic innovation.

In Business Management, our budding entrepreneurs brought their learning to life by launching small businesses, each raising funds for non-profit organisations close to their hearts.

Our Year 9 students have embraced a deeply meaningful semester through their Year of Challengeprogram. From volunteering at Equip Food Bank, to spending time with elderly residents in aged care homes, to completing an impressive 50km bike ride, they have grown in resilience, compassion, and teamwork. Their three-day city experience further expanded their horizons as they learned about homelessness, visited the MCG, stepped into a real courtroom, and explored the historic Melbourne Gaol—life-shaping experiences that broadened their understanding of the world around them.

We have also celebrated strong academic success across Secondary. Several of our Year 10 students achieved Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards in the Queen’s Commemorative Writing Competition, a significant and honourable achievement.

We are equally proud of our students who received High Distinctions in the Mathematics Competition, reflecting their hard work, curiosity, and commitment to excellence.

As I reflect on my first year at Christway, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our students, families, and staff for making me feel so welcome and supported in my role as Acting Head of Secondary. It has been a privilege to walk alongside such a warm, faith-filled community.
As we enter the Christmas season, may we remember the joy and hope found in the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. I wish every family a blessed Christmas and a safe, restful holiday break. May God’s peace be with you all.
