As this edition of our newsletter reaches you, I know many of you are managing the full complexity that Term 4 reliably brings; workforce planning, staffing decisions, end-of-year reporting, transition programs, and of course the daily leadership that keeps schools running. Yet amidst the pressure, this time of year also offers moments of celebration, pride, and genuine satisfaction as you witness the achievements of students and the collective efforts of staff. Thank you for the resilience, care, and professionalism you continue to bring to your roles.

I extend particular congratulations to our secondary colleagues who have successfully guided staff and students through the VCE examination period. This is an enormous undertaking each year, requiring precision, calm leadership, and unwavering attention to detail. Your commitment ensures that students experience a fair, supportive, and well-organised exam process and it does not go unnoticed.

Last Friday, I had the privilege of attending the PASS Awards, an event that shines a spotlight on the exceptional contributions of staff working in our specialist schools. These colleagues demonstrate remarkable expertise, compassion, and dedication, and it was inspiring to see their work recognised and celebrated on a broader stage. Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients as you certainly elevate our entire profession.

I also had the opportunity to join the Western Australian APF Branch (the Principals Federation of WA) for their recent conference. It was energising to connect with interstate colleagues and engage directly with their Director General and senior executives from the WA Department of Education. Their strong focus on principal health and wellbeing was clear and deeply aligned with the advocacy we continue to prioritise here in Victoria. I congratulate the PFWA on their leadership and sustained impact in this critical space.

As we move into the final stretch of the school year, please remember that you do not need to carry the challenges alone. Reach out for support, advice, or representation whenever you need it.

Wishing you strength and encouragement for the weeks ahead together with moments of celebration along the way.
