Journeying Together in Christ
The message I share with you today is for our graduating Year 6 students, but it could also be a call to action for all the students at St Luke’s. Academic growth is important, but so is your character and your faith. We know and nurture the whole child, not just what they can learn.
To our graduating students:
As you stand on the threshold of a new chapter, we pause to celebrate all that you have achieved during your time at our school. Each of you has grown not only in knowledge, but also in faith, compassion, and character. We have watched you make mistakes and learn from them, embrace challenges, support your friends, and contribute to our community in countless ways. Your journey here has been marked by curiosity, perseverance, and a willingness to learn about and live out the values of our Catholic faith.
As you prepare to move on to your secondary schooling, we encourage you to carry with you the lessons and friendships you have formed at our school. Remember that true success is measured not just by what you achieve, but by the kindness you show to others and the positive difference you make in the world.
Let the words of Scripture guide you as you continue to grow:
“And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32
May you always strive to be people of kindness, understanding, and generosity. Let your actions reflect the love and teachings of Jesus, and may you continue to grow in wisdom and grace.
As you leave us, know that you will always be a cherished part of our school family. We are proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see the wonderful things you will do in the years ahead. May God bless you and guide you on your journey.
Congratulations to our graduating Year 6s and their families!
We wish Jess Moodie and Darcie Jondahl all the best as they embark on new adventures next year. Jess is leaving us to teach English at GV Grammar, while Darcie is going further afield to St Carlo Acutis Primary school in Wollert.
We also have two 'maternity leavers' - Sarah Small and Karena Pigdon, who we will see for a few weeks in the new year. We wish them both good health and rest over the break.

As we celebrate the third week of Advent, in anticipation of Christmas, out thoughts are with the Jewish community who celebrate Hannukah, the festival of light, at this time of year. Given the tragic events that unfolded in Sydney on Sunday we are reminded of the importance of kindness, and of valuing and celebrating difference and inclusion. Above all else, we are reminded of Jesus' commandment to love your neighbour as yourself. Matthew22:39.
Wishing all of our school community the blessings of the Christmas Season, and safe, happy holidays.
Regards,
Jen McKillop
