Principal's Report

Welcome back to Term 3! It has been wonderful to see everyone settle quickly into routines and dive straight into learning. The calm, positive start has set the tone for what promises to be another exciting and productive term.
It has only been a couple of weeks but we have already celebrated some key milestones. One of my favourite days of the year took place on Wednesday with our Prep students proudly celebrating their 100 Days of School milestone. A chance to reflect and celebrate how far they have come since the start of the year. Congratulations to all of you and I am so proud of your growth across the year. We are so pleased to have joined us at ACPS.
At the other end of Primary School, our Grade 6 students marked 100 Days Left of Primary School, beginning their countdown to Graduation and the next stage of their journey. You are the leaders of our school and have achieved so much in your time here at ACPS. Congratulations on reaching this significant milestone and I look forward to us all making the most of your time left at ACPS.
We also welcomed families into the school for our Book Fair, which was a huge success. It is always inspiring to see students so enthusiastic about books and reading, and we are grateful to everyone who supported this event.
At our first two Assemblies for the term, I spoke with students about The ACPS Way, which is the unifying way in we we carry and conduct ourselves at ACPS. The ACPS Way is underpinned by our four key pillars:
These pillars are embedded in everything we do at school – from how we learn in the classroom to how we play in the yard and represent ACPS in the community. Teachers refer to the pillars when recognising positive behaviours, setting learning goals, and celebrating achievements, so students understand what “living the ACPS Way” looks like in action. Families might like to talk about these pillars at home too, so children hear the same language between home and school.
Important Updates
Allergy Aware School – No Nuts
A reminder that ACPS is an Allergy Aware school. To protect students with severe allergies, please ensure that snacks and lunches from home do not contain nuts. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
Child Safety and Volunteering
Our volunteers play such an important role in the life of our school, from classroom help to excursions and events. As part of our Child Safe practices, all volunteers need a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and must sign in and out at the office each time they are on site. Volunteer WWCCs are free and can be obtained quickly via the Service Victoria website.
NAPLAN Reports
We are proud to share that our school achieved strong NAPAN results again this year with students achieving at and above state averages in all domains of this year’s NAPLAN assessments – a reflection of their hard work, the dedication of our teaching team and our commitment to our strategic plan. Maths was a focus area of ACPS across the past two years and it is pleasing to share that our 2025 NAPLAN Maths results were on average 20-25% higher than the state average at both Grade 3 and 5. Families can now collect their child’s NAPLAN report from the office. If you have any questions about the results, please speak with your child’s teacher at our upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews.
