NAIDOC Week Celebrations

NAIDOC Week at Bunyip Primary School

This week, Bunyip Primary School proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with a series of engaging and meaningful activities. Students rotated through a variety of experiences led by different teachers, each showcasing elements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. From storytelling and art to exploring connection to Country, students deepened their understanding and appreciation of the world’s oldest continuing cultures. It was a memorable week of learning, respect, and celebration.

NAIDOC PBS Whole School Activity

During our PBS session, students created symbolic artwork on river stones using traditional Aboriginal designs to represent their connection to land, community, and story. These stones will form a meaningful display in our sensory garden, celebrating respect for Aboriginal culture and Country. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Garden Gear Bunyip for generously donating a river stone for each student and staff member. Below is a preview of some decorated stones.
