Year 7 Alpine Winter Experience - kunanyi/ Mount Wellington
Mott Penn | Wednesday 30 July |
Fry Walker | Thursday 31 July |
Backhouse Oats | Friday 1 August |
Students are to be dropped off by 8.30am at Bell Street and collected from Bell Street at 3.30pm.
Year 7 students will spend the day on kunanyi/Mt Wellington with qualified and experienced teachers and outdoor education guides. They will develop winter skills involving winter walking and snow survival skills with a focus on risk management and decision making skills.
A list of what to pack for the day has been included in the Operoo form that has been sent out this week. Due to the harsh conditions and the likelihood of significant walking to access snow, it is essential that students have suitable clothing, footwear and food.
Parents/guardians are required to hand any medications directly to staff on the morning of their child’s program, including written instructions for medication. If a student requires an EpiPen or asthma puffer, these must be in-date and carried with them at all times.
If weather conditions are deemed unsatisfactory, students will participate in an alternative activity.
MS Readathon
We are very excited to let you know that the Middle School is taking part in the MS Readathon this year to encourage reading and to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
We’d love to get as many students involved as possible, reading lots of books and raising funds throughout August. Parents can visit the link below to sign up their student. This activity can be included as part of the Year 7 Health challenge, and all students who participate are eligible for up to 5 service hours depending on their level of engagement. Please contact Nicole Parums in the Library if you need any assistance or have any questions. Happy Reading!

Key Class Representatives - Semester 2 Elections
The Middle School is calling for applications from students in Years 7 and 8 who would like to be considered for Key Class Representative (KCR). KCR’s join the Middle School Student Voice Council, who meet weekly, and bring forward the ideas of their Key Class. It is a fantastic role for those students who would like to try leadership and be involved in running Campus initiatives. Application information was emailed to students, and applications are due to Essie Hoggart and the students’ Key Teacher by Monday 28 July.
One-minute speeches to Key Classes have been brought forward to Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 July due to Year 7 Outdoor Ed (candidates should check with their Key Teacher for their time). Please email Essie Hoggart if you have any questions.
House Pantomime - Calling Actors, Singers, Dancers and Tech Crew
Wednesday 17 September - 6pm
Student House Leaders are looking for people who want to have fun, meet new people and contribute to a fun group project! Casting decisions will be made in the coming week. You don’t need any experience; just a positive attitude! Students should sign up to their House’s Google Classroom (links have been emailed) and chat to their Student House Leader or Essie Hoggart if they have any questions! House Panto rehearsals are on Mondays at first break.
Tickets will be available soon for students, parents and friends to come and support their House and the Middle School!
