Learning Community 2

23A - Mr. Rennie

23B - Ms. McAsey

Our 2/3 students have had a fantastic start of the term!

Mathematics

We have been learning about multiplication and how to use tools such as sharing grouping and arrays to find solutions. Additionally, we have been looking at how multiplication sentences can be re-written into division sentences, making number families. We have spent lots of time doing hands on activities and using various manipulatives, having lots of fun!

Reading

In reading we have been looking at the main idea on a page and in a book or piece of writing. We have had lots of discussions about books and what exciting things we are reading. We have read "The invisible Man" and "The Paper Bag Princess". These were very exciting and had wonderful messages for us to explore.

Writing

In writing we have been looking at technical vocabulary and how to write an information report. We have edited information reports, found key words, written a class information report (on dolphins) and are nearly ready to write our own information reports. If students have any books on their favourite activities (sport, craft, other), we'd love to see them come into the class in the next week so we can reference them when writing our information reports.

Grade 2 Sleepover update

Some of our families have been really excited about the upcoming sleepover, and previously this has been communicated to students that it will likely be in Term 3. Due to the many events that Bunyip Primary is running, we have been asked to postpone to the start of Term 4. We will keep you posted. :)
