Gardening Club

We had a lovely donation of Jonquil and Bluebell bulbs and students loved planting them and now wait excitedly for their gorgeous flowers! We took worm castings (the lovely soil fertiliser the worms have made) and carefully separated the worms, to put back in the worm bin. Students loved making “worm tea” by mixing the castings with water, letting it brew and then watering our plants with it.

Cooking delicious pumpkin soup from our garden

What fabulous fun we had! Thirty five students voted to do cooking on St Ignatius’ feast day. W We finally got to eat “Percy Pumpkin” who had grown in our school garden!

Students did such a good job of cutting the onions, stirring and mashing the pumpkin, adding seasoning and the favourite - whizzing! We also made bread from self raising flour and Greek yoghurt.

Compost Ninjas

Well done to our new Compost Ninja team who collect our food scraps every day and feed them to the worms. By doing this, we save so much waste from going to landfill, helping to reduce methane gas, and therefore global warming. It is so good to know we are doing such a good job of saving our food scraps and turning them into great compost for our gardens!

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
