Principal's News

Dear Families and Friends of Trinity Primary School,
As we approach the end of our third week of Term 3 we already have a significant number of major events behind us, not least being the recent celebration of First Eucharist for a number of our children. We were very lucky once again, to have this special celebration on Sunday as our parish also celebrated St Ignatius Feast day. A very big thankyou to all the staff involved and in particular Mr Ru for the hard work done in the lead up, preparing our children, and on the day. This week we also saw all our year 5&6s attend Loreto College for a sports day organised by Ms Jenny. This was a great opportunity for our children to participate in, and compete against the students from Loreto.
As well as these events our children have also begun to focus on the learning goals shared wth their families. Last week I incluided the term learning overviews for each year level and I would again encourage you to look over these so that if and when the opportunity arises to incoprporate some of these skills into our children's daily lives then you are able to seize the moment as real life learning, in context, can be extremely beneficial or our children.
Next Tuesday, Ms Belinda wil be taking our BOITE Choir members into the city to perform at the Melbourne Town Hall along with many other children from schools all ove Melbourne. I am sure, as has been the case in prvious years, that this will be an incredible event and a fantastic experience for our children. Please see Ms Belinda's page in our newsletter HERE for information and ticketing.
Here is an SBS Story on the 2023 BOITE Schools Choir Concert in which many of our children took part.
School Fees
Thankyou once again to all those families who have responded to our Fee reminders last week as this makes a huge difference to our planning and budgetting, particularly at this stage of the year. As always if you have any concerns or questions relating to fees please do not hesitate to contact the office or myself directly.
Book Week is Coming!
This term we have some exciting opportunities for family engagement as we celebrate Book Week from Monday 18th August to Friday 22nd August. Book Week is a special time each year where schools and libraries across Australia celebrate books, authors, illustrators, and the joy of reading. The theme for book week this year is ‘Book and Adventure!’

Family Maths Challenge:
Last Week's Winner: N/A (Might have been too hard (:
Last Week's Question: In parking meters in the city, you can get 15 minutes parking for 50c. We put $3.50 into the parking meter at 3.15pm.
At what time did the parking meter expire?
Quick Answer: Solution
$3.50 = 7 x 50c. 7 x 15 minutes = 105 minutes. 105 minutes = 1 hour and 45 minutes.
3:15 + 1:45 = 5:00. The parking meter would expire at 5 pm.
This week's Maths Challenge.
