Welcome Back
The final term for 2024, Term Four has stated - unbelievable as it seems. I hope all families were able to enjoy some time together during the student vacation time and all students have now returned to school ready for a term of learning. It is going to be a busy one!
NAIDOC Week
Please see the assistant principal's page for information about the events for this very special week.
Melbourne Cup
As has been the tradition at Catherine McAuley for several years, tickets have been sent home for the Melbourne Cup Trifecta. As this is a sweep, all tickets must be accounted for and sold. Any tickets lost or not returned to the office prior to Melbourne Cup Day need to be paid for. If you do not wish to sell the tickets sent to you or to purchase them, please return then to the school office as soon as possible so that they can be sold.
Money raised will be used for playground refurbishment.
Grandparents and Friends day
On Wednesday 23rd October we will celebrate Grandparents and Friends Day. All Grandparents and those who are like Grandparents are invited to the school to visit classrooms from 1pm and then enjoy lunch with their grandchildren. Sandwiches and a cup of tea/coffee will be provided. Thank you to the Year 5 PACE team for organising this community event. After lunch, we will celebrate our grandparents and friends with a liturgy in Kenna Hall. Thank you Year 5 for your leadership of this liturgy.
PACE Events
A PACE meeting will be held in Week 4, on Thursday 7th November. This will be our last PACE meeting for the year, so it would be wonderful to see as many of you as possible at this meeting. I am meeting with the PACE executive team to set the agenda next week and will get it out to you via COMPASS asap.
The Year 3 PACE team are organising discos for the students on Friday, 1st November. A note will be sent out to you about this event soon.
Baby News
Today we farewelled Mrs Elise Goodwin, our school counsellor as she leaves us for a time to have a baby. I am sure you will join me in wishing Elise and her family well.
Mrs Satterthwaite came in to visit us late last term with her beautiful baby girl named Lillie. It was a delight to meet Lillie and both Mum and Bub are doing well.
