Year 12 Outdoor Education
Week 7 saw the two Year 12 Outdoor Education classes undertake their final Mazenod Expedition. The class were hiking a challenging section of the Bibbulmun Track from north of Monadnocks campsite to just south of Nerang campsite. This section of track saw the group traversing three peaks, Mount Cuthbert (500m above sea level), Mount Vincent (480m) and finally Mount Cooke (520m). The group used the Mount Cooke campsite as their overnight stay.
Despite the tough climbs the group was in awe of the views from each of the peaks and gained a sense of achievement from each successful ascent. Individuals stood up and essentially led their own expeditions. As teachers, it was a privilege to accompany the students on this journey which showed the extent they have grown within the Outdoor Education subject area.
Many thanks to Mr Truss, Miss Wallis and old boy Ben Udinga (Class of 2009), for their efforts on this camp.
