👷VET Pathways & WPL

VET Pathways & Workplace Learning

As we make our way to the end of term it is always a very emotional to know that it may be the last time that I see some of the Year 12 students. I have built a very special bond with them and have seen their successes and failures and have enjoyed watching them grow as individuals. I truly feel blessed to have witnessed your son grow and be a part of their journey.

Year 12 Students

Last week, we heard from MTAWA and SkillHire about employment opportunities for 2025. For more details, please visit their websites. This a reminder that Year 12 students must attend WPL unless they have secured an apprenticeship for 2025, have full-time employment or have two or fewer exams. This is a valuable opportunity to explore potential careers, so make the most of it. Year 12 WPL runs from Monday, 7 October, to Thursday, 17 October, with all students required to attend school on Friday for the Farewell Assembly.

Year 11 Students

Year 11 students should have already applied for one-year VET courses at TAFE, with offers being sent out in Term 4. Remember, the boys will need to arrange their WPL placements for Weeks 6 and 7, running from Monday, 11 November, to Friday, 22 November.

Year 10 Students

TAFE offers for students who have applied will be sent out next term. The CTF will be in touch over the coming weeks regarding interviews or offers.

Year 10 I&E students are about to begin their work experience for Term 3, and I look forward to visiting them during their placements. The final WPL will take place from Monday, 25 November, to Friday, 29 November. Forms will be distributed when students return.

EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS FOR 2025

A few of the boys are progressing through the next stages of their apprenticeship with some big companies.

In the coming months, many organisations will be posting apprenticeship opportunities for 2025. We encourage students to apply via SEEK and Indeed. The boys are always welcome to practice their interview questions at any time, even after they’ve applied.
