Gold House Band

Well done to the Gold House Band that competed in the recent House Music Competition. They gave it their best shot after a challenging rehearsal preparation where they missed a few sessions and struggled to get a group together. They were a group of mainly year 7A students, in Matilda Lodge (Flute), Owen Maguire doing a fantastic job on vocals, Finn Larson – Brown (Bass), William Gladman (Trumpet) and Ezra Williamson on drums, led by Braydn Beckwith–Smith 9G (Trombone) and his fellow year 9 sidekicks in Dylan Monaghan, Xavier Williams and Will Brown on percussion. Ashwin Barathi and Ethan Wagner also joined the stage as ‘hype men’. A massive thanks to Jacinta Carswell, Blue House and Heechan Hwang, Red House who filled in on flute and drums. The group came on last after some impressive performances and were able to perform a rendition of ‘You got a friend in me’. I was super proud of their performance and the young group was rewarded with a chip lunch and some café vouchers for their determination to get a song together for the House Competition.
