Interschool Basketball Recount

By Lola 6D and Olivia 6C

On Friday 6 September, 19 students were selected to represent NMPS at inter school sport Basketball.

Unlike winter and summer gala day this was a one day event. We arrived at 9:30 at Keilor basketball and netball stadium, before all the other schools. It was silent in the stadium, then it got filled with all our excited voices.

Soon schools started flooding the stadium and students started getting ready with pre-game warm ups and training with coaches to reach their full potential before the game even starts. Kale started getting us ready with pep talking and tips. He made sure that we all knew this was about having fun. Even though we all wanted to win.

First up were the boys. They did so well but sadly they lost but who cares as there are so many more matches to come. Then it was time for the girls to compete. Olivia and I both played in the first half. We all didn’t play our best as this was some of our first time ever playing basketball, luckily we had pros on our teams who were really helpful. Sadly we also lost but there was no time to think it was onto the next game.

The next coming matches were a toss up of winning and losing but it was so much fun. At the end of it neither of the boys or girls team got into the finals which was a huge advantage as we got to watch the boys and girls finals. They were tough. It was totally great because everyone had fun and it was a good day full of Lollies and it was a great experience for everyone.

It is so much fun having all these experiences in grade six it makes it so memorable. Congrats to everyone who made it into districts basketball you all did incredible competing and creating memories that will last a lifetime

Buddies Morning

On Monday the 16th of September. The entire Prep cohort excitedly walked across to the Errol St campus to reunite with their buddies for the final time of the term. Students were given the chance to spend some time with their buddies in various outdoor areas such as on the oval and southside. This was a great opportunity for students to spend some time around the other campus but to also continue to develop social skills which will be important going forwards with their own learning journey. Overall it was thoroughly enjoyed and we can’t wait to see our buddies again in term 4!
