Not a fire!
We were lucky enough to have two visits from Fire Rescue Victoria which served as an exciting and informative end to Term 3. During the first visit, we learned all about fire
safety in the home. The children were taught the difference between 'good' and 'bad' fires, learned about the importance of smoke detectors, and were given vital instructions on what to do in case of a fire emergency. 'Crawl Down Low and GO GO GO!' The firefighters also demonstrated their equipment and explained its uses to the children.
The second visit was even more exciting than the first, with children being given opportunities to explore the inside of the fire truck and even having a turn operating the fire hose. All of the children demonstrated their responsible attitudes to fire safety, and were keen to share everything they had learned in the previous session. It was a fantastic way to end the term, and we are looking forward to continuing the learning journey in Term 4!
