Favourite recipes

As we come to the end of Term 3, 3D wishes to share with the school community their reflections on their first term of cooking:

Evie - I loved this semester having cooking. In cooking I see all the different foods all around me. In cooking I smell the fresh food in the oven baking perfectly. In cooking I touch the 'food' air and feel it screaming my name!

Dewamsha - My favourite thing in cooking was kale chips!!! They were the most delicious food I HAVE EVER EATEN!

Elliott - My favourite thing was the pasta.

Vivi - Today we made pasta! I like how we took turns doing the dough and making the pasta also there was a guest coming over - it was someone's mum called Eliza.

Matilda - It was my very first time making pasta from scratch and I loved it. It was fun mixing the dough and kneading and eating the pasta.

Frankie.F - This semester we made some lovely things such as kale chips, focaccia, minestrone and lots more! My favourite dish was focaccia. We decorated the bread with plants from our garden. I loved cooking!

Sophie - I liked how everyone worked together and that we took turns. I liked the focaccia because it reminds me of my grandma's focaccia. I also like Kristen helping us cook meals and encouraging us.

Raha - Today was so fun. I got to make pasta dough. My favourite thing was that I got to eat the food. The pasta was so good. I loved it!

Karmen - My favourite thing that we cooked is the kale chips because it was so crunchy and crispy. I also love all the recipes.

Evelyn - For ten weeks cooking was amazing!! My favourite dish was focaccia. If your reading this I hope you like it, all the food we made was from our garden.

Anon - I don't understand why we made pasta? Why not something sweet? I. Don't get it.

We could at least make blue berry muffins! Please! I really, really want to use sugar!

Anon - The fun bit about cooking is making the capunti ,an Italian pasta. My favourite part of cooking was making focaccia and eating it with the kale chips. I love putting/spreading the oil.

William - This was my first time making pasta and we all succeeded on making it, but my favourite was kale chips.

Teddy - Today we made pea shaped captuni. We also made kale chips, minestrone, parsley pesto, focaccia and granola. My favourite is kale chips.

Frances - In cooking this term we made lots of things including kale chips, granola, carrot muffins and minestrone. I liked the carrot muffins.

Mattea - I like shaping the pasta into little pods and kneading the dough. This term I had my first cooking session. My favourite things to make were kale chips, focaccia and capunti pasta. It has been really fun cooking in a team with my friends. We have even had a parent helper come in! It has been really exciting and I hope it is just as fun next year!

Christina - WOW! Cooking was a blast. We got to make many things like kale chips, granola, focaccia, carrot muffins, minestrone, pumpkin spiced bread, vegetarian spring rolls and pasta. My favourite was kale chips because it was crunchy and salty. I love salty. I love cooking!

Mia - Today in cooking we made capunti pasta. I loved the fact that my team worked together. We made the dough then split it into 6 pieces. We then made the dough into a long roll and chopped it into little pieces like cooking gnocchi. Then we made the pea pod shapes.

Dhawal - Today we made captuni. Its a type of pasta. We first put 400 grams of semolina flour, then we put 1 tsp of salt, then 200ml of water. There were six people in our group. It was hard to divide 200 by 6. We all put it together, we did a lot! We did move things to make the pasta, but I'm not gonna spoil it. Well, my favourite food in cooking was focaccia, kale chips, and more! I love cooking! In fact I loved all the food except some, not going to tell you though!

Damien - Today we made pasta, it was my favourite.

Summer - Today my favourite thing was kneading the dough. This semester my favourite thing was making kale chips, focaccia and also minestrone soup. Cooking is the ''BEST''!

Azraf - I really liked the kale chips and I've never been in the Biz E Kids kitchen since cooking started. My favourite foods are focaccia, kale chips and flatbread.

Kia - This term in cooking we made a variety of different foods, including focaccia, pumpkin bread with honey and many others. My favourite to make was focaccia, where we got to mix ingredients and knead the sough to make it delicious.

Safe to say kale chips is the favourite! How wonderful that our students in their first term of cooking, developed a loved of a green vegetable. Well done Year 3, its been a wonderful term working with you.
