QBuild Apprenticeships - September 2024

Brisbane Bullets and TAFE Queensland Launch New Institute of Sport and Business

The Bullets have announced an exciting new venture with TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275) to establish the Brisbane Bullets Institute of Sport and Business. The program is based at the Brisbane Bullets training facility in South Bank, offering a focused post-school education and sports industry immersion program. Students will benefit from access to Brisbane's new High-Performance Centre, interacting with Bullets coaches, players and sports administration leaders as part of their educational experience.

 

The industry-focused program offers unique educational opportunities through an accredited dual diploma qualification and practical training, equipping students with the skills and experience needed for a successful career in the sports industry. In addition to academic and industry experience, participants will receive specialised coaching and customised training programs designed to enhance their on-court skills.

Interested in a Teaching Career? Apply for the Aspiring Teacher Grant!

Are you in Year 12 and thinking about a career in teaching? The Aspiring Teacher Grant offers financial support for high-achieving students who plan to study an undergraduate teaching degree in Queensland. This grant provides a lump sum to help with study expenses, making it easier to focus on your education.

 

To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. In return, recipients usually commit to teaching in a Queensland state school after graduation, often in regional or remote areas.

Experience a day in the life of a health professional through Mater Education.

Are you a student in Years 10-12 and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare? 

Be immersed in a real hospital environment and get hands-on experience at a one- or two-day High School Health Adventure program.

Opportunity for Year 12s with the Department of Home Affairs

Here is an exciting opportunity that may be of interest to current Year 12 and 13 students considering taking a gap year before continuing their academic year or entering the workforce. 

 

The Department of Home Affairs is pleased to provide a comprehensive Gap Year Program designed to provide students with valuable experiences that will enhance their personal and professional development.  We believe this program is an excellent way for students to bridge the gap between their current academic achievements and future aspirations.

 

The Home Affairs Gap Year program will commence in February 2025 with positions offered in dynamic teams where they will have the opportunity to do interesting and meaningful work. Successful applicants will be employed on a 12-month temporary contract and gain valuable experience supporting the processing and administration of essential business areas with excellent working conditions and remuneration.

The Defence Work Experience Program (DWEP) is a national Youth Program that provides young Australians with an interest in a Defence career, the opportunity to gain exposure to a range of job roles available within Defence and the Australian Public Service. Defence work experience activities are designed to be hands-on and interactive so that young people can make informed career decisions.
