Short message from the Principal & upcoming $400 per student
Welcome back to Term 4.
Please excuse the brevity of this message, as I have been unwell with a bad chest infection. I am disappointed to have missed most of the start of the term, but I hope to be back fully next week as improving slowly. A special thanks to John Paola and Sheri Parkhouse, our two wonderful Assistant Principals, for holding the fort and ensuring a great start to the term.
Our Year 12's are in their final sprint, with their last classes and end of school celebrations next week. We all look forward to this special time with them and I look forward to sharing highlights of their celebrations. VCE examinations commence on 29th October.
Reminder: Student Free Day (Staff Professional Practice Day) Monday 4th November, Melbourne Cup Public Holiday on Tuesday 5th November

School Savings Bonus next actions ($400 per student from the Victorian Government)
As shared with you previously, parents and carers of every child enrolled in a Victorian government school in 2025 will receive the one-off School Saving Bonus $400 support.
In the coming months, the Department of Education will send you 2 email communications for each of your children enrolled in Victorian government schools.
As already stated, you needed to have advised the school if your contact information had changed. If you didn't get to that please contact us immediately on wangaratta.hs@education.vic.gov.au or on 57230500
The 2 emails from the Department of Education will:
1. Confirm your email address between mid-October and late-November.
2. Provide you with your unique $400 School Saving Bonus code by the end of November.
If you do not receive a confirmation email from the department by late-November, please check your spam or junk folders and contact Reception if needed.
You can read more about the School Saving Bonus on the Department of Education website, with key information now available in 14 different languages.
To ensure your student information is up to date with the school, please visit Change of Student Information Form – Wangaratta High School (whs.vic.edu.au) to lodge any changes to your student's contact information, emergency contacts and the likes.
Alternatively, you may contact the administration office on (03) 5723 0500 or walk in and confirm any changes to be made to student information.
