The school community gathered on Wednesday morning in the Hub to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
Thank you to our Year 6 school leaders for leading us in the prayer liturgy.
Easter was not just Sunday 20 April, the Church season of Easter lasts until Sunday 8 June, Pentecost Sunday.
The Gospel readings at Mass for the next five weeks continue the Easter story. The students will learn about the ongoing Easter story in class.
The Prep G students created 3 dimensional Easter eggs to explain the Easter story. These have been added to their Holy Week and Easter display in the Prep area.
The world was saddened to hear of the death of Pope Francis.
Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, from Argentina, was elected Pope in 2013. He chose the name of Francis to honour St Francis of Assisi, the person he hoped to model his papacy upon.
Pope Francis will be remembered for his humility, strong emphasis on social issues and promoting environmental stewardship through caring for God’s creation. He was a pope for the people and enjoyed being with everyday people. Pope Francis engaged in dialogue with other faiths to build harmony and unity amongst people.
It is a moment in history where our students will witness a conclave, a meeting of the Cardinals of the world, to elect a new pope to lead the Catholic Church.
Below is a link highlighting the amazing life of Pope Francis.

On Thursday afternoon, the school community gathered in the Hub to commemorate ANZAC Day.
ANZAC Day is a day to remember the original ANZACS landing at dawn at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, with the hope of taking control of the peninsula to assist in their war effort. They were met with strong resistance and by the end of the day thousands were dead or injured.
ANZAC Day is also a day to remember all soldiers and their families involved in leading the world to become a peaceful place.
Lest we forget.

Pope Francis published his prayer intentions for each month at the beginning of the year. To honour the memory of Pope Francis, we will continue to publish his monthly prayer intentions until the new pope releases his monthly prayer intentions. Please try to find some quiet time in your busy day to pray this prayer. Thank you.
For the use of the new technologies
Let us pray that the use of the new technologies will not replace human relationships, will respect the dignity of the person, and will help us face the crises of our times.
Eternal rest grant unto Pope Francis, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
