Wellbeing

At the start of each year, in the Foundation room, I used to read the book Old Friends, New Friends by Andrew Dado. That title has been particularly true for me this year. It has been terrific meeting new families and establishing relationships; and it has been equally wonderful catching up and reconnecting with known families.

I appreciate the thoughtfulness of so many ‘old and new friends’ checking in and asking how I’m finding the new role and wondering if I miss the classroom or the children?

The truth is, I love my new role. I miss the classroom but I’m far too busy to notice this. I do, however miss witnessing the special 'aha' moments, but my days still have time with the children, and they always make you smile!

The transition from classroom teaching to my new role as Disability Inclusion and Wellbeing Coordinator has been smooth.  My commitment to care for, support and nurture each child remains unchanged. I look forward to building stronger connections with each member of our school community and providing ongoing support.

Have a great weekend 😊
