Principal's News

Dear Familes and Friends,
Wow, What a term it has been! It is hard to believe we have already finished one quarter of the year but I know how hard each of our children has worked throughout the term. I am already aware of how much progress has been made in each of the year levels and by individual children. You would only need to walk into either of our Prep classrooms to see how much is gained in just one term at school. A very big thankyou to each of the staff at Trinity who do such an amazing job each day as well as all the hours spent after school and on weekends. Of course without the incredible support of parents we would not be able to achieve all we do and I thank each of you for your ongoing support. No doubt there have been ups and downs also throughout the term but I am confident that when we work together in supportive and positive relationships we are almost always able to overcome these challenges.
There have been many highlights this term including our memorable Multicultural Family Welcome Night and of course our school fete to name just two. These events really do highlight the importance of community and are such an important part of the school year.
Next term we have already begun planning for Election Day when our school will become a voting centre for our local community. Last time we hosted the voting we were able to raise a coniderable amount of money through our sausage sizzle and bake sale. We hope that this year we can do something similar and once again look forward to your support in volunteering in any way you can to help in the lead up or on the day.
Staff Update
Sadly we will be saying farewell to Ms Elorraine at the end of this term. Ms Elorraine, as many of you are aware, has been an LSO here at Trinity for 7 years and has worked with many, many children in that time to provide them with the extra support they have needed in their learning. Ms Elorraine is a highly skilled LSO and will be extremely missed by all of us at Trinty and especially the teachers and children she has worked closely with. Ms Elorraine has had to make this very difficult decision for her own health reasons and will now be looking for a position much closer to her home. We know that wherever she works those people will be very luckty to have her. I am sure you will all join me in saying farewell and wishing her all the best for the future. We will formally say goodbye at our final assembly tomorrow.
Parents & Friends
We are now looking for a new P&F President to take on this important role. I would be very happy to talk to anyone who feels they may have the time and skills to volunteer for this position. Mr Ru would also be happy to discuss this with you and to share what some of the responsibilities might be.
Term 2
As I am sure you are aware, our first day next term will be Tuesday 22nd April as Monday 21st is a public holiday for Easter Monday. Classes will commence for all students at the normal time on Tuessday. That same week, on Friday 25th April we recognize our ANZACS with the Anzac Day Public Holiday. A short week to start off with but then it will be full steam ahead for the rest of the term.
In week 2, our Year 3-6 students will have their cross country and a permission form will follow through the Parent Portal. This cross country will be held offsite and promises to be an exciting event for our children. Later on in the year, when we have our school sports, we will give our Prep to Year 2 students the opportunity to participate in a mini cross country.
Another exciting event next term will be our Mother's Day Breakfast on Friday 9th May and we look forward to as many mums and special people as possible attending to share this important occassion.
In week 4 we will celebrate Careers Week and I am excited about hearing from some of our parents who will speak about their own careers and their journey into those careers after leaving school.
There are of course a number of other special events that will take place next term along with all the great learning our children will do each week. I look forward to sharing these in our term two newsletters.
Trinity House Cross Country 2025
We are excited to announce that this year we will be having a Trinity House Cross Country event for all students in Year 3-6. On Thursday 1st May we will walk all students down to Burnley Oval at approx 9am where the students will race around a 2km course. Approx finish 12pm. On Seesaw there will be a picture of the course with approx times and distances.
If you have time over the holidays it might be a good idea to have a walk around the track for the students to get familiar with the course. We will also encourage students to wear their house colours on the day, this can be a T-shirt in their house colour or maybe a ribbon etc.
There will be more information posted at the start of next term with permission forms etc. But we can only run these events with the help of parents. And this type of event will need quite a few marshalls to help stand on the course to direct students and to cheer them on. If you will be available to help or have any particular expertise in this area and want to help set up the course with me please let Mrs McLeary know rmcleary@tcs.catholic.edu.au
Many thanks
