BADANO CORNER

Badano Corner: What our students have been learning this fortnight
At our College, the Badano Wellbeing Program plays a vital role in fostering personal development, academic success, and a strong sense of identity among our students.
Named after Chiara Badano, a young woman known for her resilience and deep commitment to faith and community, this program is designed to equip students with essential life skills that support their wellbeing and academic journey.
Over the past fortnight, students across all year levels have engaged in a variety of practical and meaningful learning experiences:
Year 7: Digital Skills and College Identity
Our Year 7 students have been developing their IT skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for their studies. They have been:
- Setting up their OneDrive and Teams accounts
- Learning to navigate Microsoft Excel and Word
- Exploring the history and identity of our College through an interactive quiz
- Engaging with the College's Historical Repository on the portal.
This foundation will help them stay organised and connected throughout their learning journey.
Year 8: Study Skills for Academic Success
As students begin to tackle more complex coursework, Year 8s have been focusing on the importance of study skills. With guidance from our College Academic Counsellors, they have been:
- Understanding how to create an effective study timetable
- Learning strategies to improve time management and productivity.
This program ensures that students develop the skills needed to manage their workload efficiently as they move towards senior years.
Years 9 & 10: Organisation for Success
For our Years 9 and 10 students, the focus has been on perfecting their organisational skills. These sessions have reinforced the importance of:
- Developing structured study habits
- Managing time effectively to balance academic and extracurricular commitments
- Preparing for the increased expectations of senior school.
By embedding these skills early, students are setting themselves up for long-term academic success.
We encourage parents to engage in conversations with their children about what they have learned in Badano lessons. These discussions can help reinforce positive habits and support their development both inside and outside the classroom.
If you have any questions or would like further insight into the Badano Wellbeing Program, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s Badano teacher.
Together, we can empower our students to thrive!
