Term Two at Croydon Hills is filled with exciting experiences and learning programs. Our students have returned to school settled and ready to learn.
Over the break our OSHC Service provided a fulfilling program for the community with every day either booked out, or near to booked out! Well done Cassie, Kym and the team for organising such an engaging program for the community.
This week, classes have engaged with a range of texts linked to ANZAC Day to build their understanding of Australian History. I encourage families to engage in an ANZAC service over the long weekend to support the children's understanding of this important period of remembrance and acknowledgement.
Congratulations to Julie Reid, who has been appointed Acting Principal of Gladysdale Primary School for Term 2 whilst their substantive Principal takes leave.
In a tremendous show of confidence and a compliment to Julie, she was approached by the Department of Education and asked to support the GPS community in Term 2. Typical of Julie’s humble nature, she sought my endorsement and subsequently accepted. Whilst this may come as unexpected news to some, as I have already, I invite you all to congratulate and wish Julie well as she takes a significant step in her professional journey.
Congratulations to Jordan Tate, who will take on the role of Assistant Principal (Wellbeing and Inclusion) in Julie's absence.
At the end of last term we farewelled Alex Hudson as she started her leave in preparation for welcoming twins into her family.
Experienced teacher, Jayne Beith, has joined our team to fill Alex's role as Prep Art Teacher. Many CHPS families would already know Jayne from her PE teacher role in 2024.
A big thank you to Tim and Shane for the work they have done on a number of facilities projects at the end of Term 1, and over the break. For those families who drive along Campaspe Drive, you will notice the enhanced streetscape out the front of the school with new signage and redeveloped landscaping and footpath access. The mural in the Prep and Junior Area is also complete. It is a wonderful addition to the number of art projects throughout the school. In addition to this, painting of the exterior of the school has continued to progress with upgrades to the Prep, Junior and Middle School Buildings.
