YEAR 12 NEWS

As we approach the midpoint of what is a crucial academic year, I’d like to take a moment to commend our Year 12 students for their resilience, determination, and growing maturity. With the HSC fast approaching, it is vital that we continue to support our students in every way possible - academically, emotionally, and socially.
Mid-Course Reports – An Important Check-In
Mid-Course Reports for Year 12 students are now available via the Parent Portal. These reports provide valuable feedback on your child’s progress across their subjects, highlighting areas of strength and those needing further attention. I encourage all parents and carers to take the time to download and carefully read the report with your child. Open and honest conversations at home can help students reflect on their progress and set realistic, actionable goals for the remainder of the year.
If you have any questions or concerns after reviewing the report, please don’t hesitate to contact the relevant class teacher. Our staff are committed to working in partnership with you to ensure your child reaches their full potential.
Supporting Study and Time Management at Home
Parental support plays a pivotal role in student success. Encourage your child to maintain a structured study routine with clear, achievable daily goals. Creating a distraction free environment, helping them break tasks into manageable chunks, and scheduling regular breaks can significantly improve focus and reduce stress. Time management tools such as planners, whiteboards, or digital calendars can help students visualise their workload and avoid last-minute cramming.
Maximising Opportunities at School
Students are reminded to use their allocated study sessions wisely. These sessions are designed to help them stay on top of content, revise regularly, and seek help when needed.
For those working on major projects—whether in Visual Arts, Design & Technology, Industrial Technology, or Dance and Drama —it is absolutely essential to maintain steady progress. Our staff are offering additional mentoring and workshop time, and we strongly encourage students to take full advantage of these valuable opportunities.
Get Involved – Wynfest Is Coming!
Finally, a healthy balance between work and connection to school life is key. I urge all Year 12 students to be part of the upcoming Wynfest celebrations. Events like Wynfest are not only a great way to unwind and celebrate our vibrant college community, but also a reminder that this final year is about more than just exams—it’s about memories, friendships, and shared pride in all we’ve achieved together.
Let’s keep working in partnership to support our Year 12s in finishing strong.
