School Saving Bonus

In Term 4, 2024, families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 will receive the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus.

The $400 School Saving Bonus provides families with support for education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks.

The School Saving Bonus is not available for full-fee international students, home schooled students, TAFE students and students attending kindergarten in 2025.

Actions for parents and carers

Before 18 October 2024, the Department of Education is asking parents and carers to:

  • Complete enrolment: If your child, or children are changing government school for Term 1 2025, or starting Prep or Year 7 in 2025. For more information, read about Enrolling in School.
  • Check your contact information: Ensure your email address and phone number is up to date with us. You can check this information by contacting us directly.

We need to ensure your contact information is up to date as the Department of Education will email you twice:

  • in October, to verify your email address
  • in November, with your $400 School Saving Bonus and access to an online system.

Book Parade

A big thank you to all our families for the effort you went to in organising great costumes for book week! Our students had a great morning showing off their outfits.  Certificates were awarded to a runner up and winner from each class.  Winners have a gift certificate in an envelope on the back of their certificate with a Kmart voucher that can be used to buy some new books.

Spring here we come!

From the beginning of Term Four, all students will need to be wearing a sun smart hat as we once again enter the period of higher UV levels. Even though the weather can be still cold on some days the UV levels can still be damaging so all children must adhere to the school policy. While we are always encouraging children to spend more time outside, exposure to sunlight is the main cause of melanoma and a cause of skin cancer.  Acknowledging Australia has the world’s highest incidence of melanoma our School Council policy is for students to be Sunsmart from the start of Term Four. So please remind them to slap on a hat!

Father's Day

A big thank you to our Parents and Friends Committee who organised an awesome Father's Day stall last Wednesday.   We very much appreciate our committee and its volunteers, who provide such great opportunities for our students! Hoping all the dads and mates enjoyed the breakfast last week.  Thanks for the great turn out - was lovely to see you all!
