Bullying No Way Day

On Friday 16 August, at lunchtime, our school came together to stand up against bullying and celebrate kindness in all its forms during our Bullying No Way Day celebrations, organised by our Student Representative Council (SRC)

It was an incredible event filled with positivity and unity as students and staff joined forces to promote a safe and supportive environment for everyone.

We kicked off the gathering with our Kindness Pledge board, where students pledged to spread kindness and be an ally against bullying. It was heart-warming to see so many students commit to making our school a better place.

We handed out free Anti-Bullying bracelets and badges to remind everyone that we’re all in this together. Our temporary kindness tattoos were a hit, with students proudly wearing their commitment to kindness on their sleeves.

The face painting station added a splash of colour to the day, and our garden games brought out smiles and laughter as students played and enjoyed each other’s company.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made Bullying No Way Day a huge success. Together, we’re creating a school culture where kindness reigns and bullying has no place. Let’s keep the spirit alive every day.

Reading is Magic - Book Week

On Friday 23 August, our school was filled with enchantment as we celebrated Children’s Book Week with the theme “Reading is Magic.” Staff and students alike embraced the magic of storytelling by dressing up as their favourite book characters, turning our school into a wonderland of imagination and creativity.

A special shoutout to our Year 7 students who went above and beyond with their incredible costumes—so much so that they won prizes for their creativity and effort.

From wizards to fairy-tale heroes, the Year 7s truly brought their beloved characters to life.

To cap off the celebration, our Year 7 students participated in Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) during Lesson 6. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to dive deep into their favourite stories and experience the true magic of reading.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and made Children’s Book Week an unforgettable experience! Remember, whether you’re battling dragons, solving mysteries, or exploring new worlds, the magic of reading is always with you.

Wear it Purple Day

On Thursday, 29 August, the school came together to celebrate Wear it Purple Day, showcasing a fantastic display of unity and support. The event was filled with vibrant activities and giveaways that brought joy and a sense of community to everyone involved.

Students enjoyed a variety of giveaways, including bracelets, badges, stickers, and delicious donuts and sweets. The face painting and rainbow temporary tattoos were particularly popular, adding even more color and excitement to the day.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Allyship board, where students wrote inspiring pledges of support for kindness and inclusion. This board served as a powerful reminder of the importance of standing together and supporting one another.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and made this day so special. A special shoutout goes to our wonderful Student Representative Council (SRC) for organising the event, and to our Rainbow Hive for creating many of the beautiful badges.

Together, we are making Aberfoyle Park High School a place where everyone feels valued and accepted. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
