Dear Parents,
Staffing for 2025 is giving me a few headaches as we will have four teachers going on maternity leave; we are of course really happy that our Woori family keeps growing.
The first thing we always need to do is lock in the Prep team as transition activities begin soon.
The wonderful and talented Prep team for 2025 is:
Rachael Cantwell (Leader)
Tess Fraser
Elyse Newman
Hopefully mid term 4 I will be able to let you know the placement of all the teachers for 2025.
The school disco was a huge hit with our students. They danced and sang and basically had lots of fun. Parents did a great job of the outfits, with some students even getting prizes. A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends Club, particularly Kaeli Haines, Jaz Moloney, Jade Vassallo, Amy Burton and the wonderful Mary Menta. Also a huge thanks to Rob our DJ that did the whole thing for love! You’re the best Rob!
Mini Olympics
Our Mini-Olympics day went really well with lots of fun sporting activity competition being had. The students really enjoyed competing for their countries and being in mixed aged groups. Switzerland was the winner on the day! Well done to Mr Gibbons for organising so much Olympic fun.
Check out Page 5 for all of the action.
We are putting together a dance concert for parents to come along and see. Students have been busy practicing in their grades. It’s a joy to walk down the corridors and hear the fun, each grade thinks they are the best, but we will see?
Senior School Tuesday 10th September
Junior School Wednesday 11th September
Time – 4pm – 5:30pm
There is no cost for the night and no allocated seating. Due to the limited space available, if it is at all possible that siblings don’t attend, we would be very grateful.
There will be a sausage sizzle ($2.50 a snag) after the concert finishes at 5:30pm.
150 years of wonderful education in Woori Yallock. It is pretty special that school 1259 is turning 150 years old. As you can see from the flyer it is going to be a great day for everyone. If you know any past students or staff, please pass on this date. It will be a celebration of 150 years of learning and friendship.
On Wednesday the grade 5/6 students came to school as someone else. Many famous people attended the school, I even got to ask Dustin Martin why he is retiring (apparently, he has done everything that he wanted to and he’s a bit tired). There is lots of learning involved in the Day of the Notable. As you can see from the photos. As always our children did a fantastic job as did the teachers in preparing them for the day.
Remember when life gets tough, escape to the wonderful world of a book.
