IB Learner Profile Attributes

The Specialist Team: Knowledgeable 

This week, our Specialist Team share with us how they represent the learner profile attribute Knowledgeable.

Team definition:

Knowledgeable means being a lifelong learner, able to communicate your learning and understanding to others. 

Individual definitions:

Craig Mather - Always willing to learn and be curious about different ideas and keep abreast of new trends.

Rhys McIntosh- Being a lifelong learner and being passionate about what you love. 

Morgan King - Share learning and being open to new information and concepts

Sue Elsbury - Being able to communicate your learning and understanding to others. 

Nicki Myszka - Willing to share experiences and always open to discovering new ones

Pamela Pan- Staying curious, being open to new experiences, and adapting to changes.

Lindi De Angelis - sharing what you know about the things you’re passionate about.

We are knowledgeable in our lives by:

Craig - I’m knowledgeable in the way I continue to learn about the history of the world and try to keep up with current events and trends. When I travel I want to find out as much as possible about that place. I do that by reading, asking experts or exploring.

 

Rhys - I am knowledgeable through being a lifelong learner. I love learning and absorbing new facts by listening to podcasts about a variety of topics I am passionate about such as history, politics, Doctor Who and DC comics.

 

Morgan - I’m knowledgeable as I am able to communicate and discuss a variety of topics with different people. I have had a range of jobs and responsibilities that have led to a good understanding of different subjects and topics including, Allied Health Specialist, Dance Coach, Fitness Instructor, Retail Assistant and Receptionist. 

 

Sue - I am knowledgeable in being a long life learner. I love to learn new things, by exploring, asking questions and reading. The things I love to learn about include strategies and tactics of many different sports, reading and sharing books, hiking at my favourite country tracks and immersing myself in a museum full of art and history. 

 

Nicki - I am knowledgeable in my love of everything art. I love looking at different artworks and sharing my thoughts about art. I enjoy delving into the meaning of artworks - why artists have created their art pieces. I love reading and sharing books. I love trying new things - being experimental in the art room with students is one of my favourite things to do.

 

Pamela - I am knowledgeable as I am a curious learner in this ever changing world. I am a keen traveller. When travelling, I explore different perspectives through conversations with people from diverse backgrounds and fields.

 

Lindi - I am knowledgeable in the subjects that I love to teach, especially Dance, because I studied it since the age of three! I love learning different dance styles and throughout the years, I have specialised in Argentine Tango, Salsa and other partner dance styles. I have also studied and competed in Tai Chi and would like to learn more about the healing art of Yoga. I aspire to learn how to speak Italian one day and would love to learn about plants and how to be a great gardener!
