5/6 News
We are officially half way through term three and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our students on their fantastic work ethic and showing our school values and representing our school so wonderfully whenever we have left our school grounds.
Empowered Girls Can @ TPS!
On Thursday the 15th of August, some of the Grade 6 girls started a new program at school called 'Empowered Girls Can @ TPS'. We went to Wickhams Martial Arts Centre in Echuca to learn how to defend ourselves. We learnt how to get up safely if you are being attacked. Then we went to Work Locker to try on our shirts for sizes to wear in the program. Finally we got Maccas. We all had Happy Meals with a frozen raspberry and then we went to the park for 20 minutes before returning to school. A big thank you to Mrs Pearce and Wickham's Martial Arts for letting us learn about self defense and making being a girl so much fun!

This week we went to Echuca again our program 'Empowered Girls Can @ TPS'. We went in our second Wickham's Martial Arts self defense class. We learnt how to take someone to the ground if we were being attacked, we also learnt how to get someone's hand off our wrist. After we finished our lesson, we went to Gravity Shack for a play and for lunch where we had hot chips and tomato sauce. We also had a sundae or a soft serve each from Maccas! Today was so fun! Thank you so much Mrs Pearce and Wickham's Martial Arts.

On Friday, 16th August, all of the grade 3,4,5 and 6s went to the Waranga Athletics at
Ky P -12. Before we left we had to get a number on our hand because there were going to be a lot of schools there. We got on the bus and headed off. As soon as we got there, we got into our age groups and started. The 12/13 girls went to shot put and I got 1st place but it was over all. Then we ran the 200 metres. Next was the triple jump. Followed by a break. Then there was long jump. Next was recess. Then we had 100 metres and discus. I almost hit one of the leaders. Then our last individual thing for the day was hurdles. Followed finally by age groups relays. Thank you Ms Young for organising this day, Ms Holyman, Ms Pridham, Mr Hogan, Brett, Brayden, Ms Cardillo, Ms Holloway and Josh for taking us and making our day amazing!

Boys 2 the Bush
Thursday 15th was our last day of Boys to the Bush. We went to a farm called Bora Bora just out of Echuca and had a lot of fun. We went down to the paddocks and helped clean them up. After that we went right down the back of the place and had some free time to explore around the river. We then cooked some hamburgers and sausages for lunch. When lunch was finished we had more free time, some people went fishing and some people just explored when our time was up we proceeded back to school.
