Book Week - Celebration and Author Visit
This year’s Book Week at our school was a great success, filled with excitement and creativity! Our celebration kicked off with a vibrant parade capably led by our school captains. Students showcased their favourite book characters through colourful and imaginative costumes. Thanks to the parents and friends that helped source the costumes.
Following the parade, students engaged in a variety of multi-age activities centered around the shortlisted books, fostering a love for reading and encouraging collaborative learning. Activities included drawing a garden with chalk, making friendship bracelets, making video clips about our strengths and focusing on what the students can do and learning gymnastics with a giant unicorn (Mrs Acocks) as the instructor!
To cap off the week, we were thrilled to host an online author visit by the renowned Michael Salmon, who captivated students with his storytelling and insights into the world of writing and illustrations.
It was a fantastic celebration of literature and great to see so many parents and friends supporting the students learning in this way.
Thank you to Mrs Collins for organising a wonderful celebration.
Grade 3/ 4 News
We are thrilled to share with you some of the fantastic activities and learning experiences that have been taking place in the Grade 3/4 classrooms this term!
Firstly, our students have enthusiastically participated in the swimming program, where they have been working hard to develop their swimming skills and water safety knowledge. It's been wonderful to see their confidence grow in the pool!
Our students also showed great spirit and determination at the District Athletics event held in Echuca. Everyone put in their best effort, and we were so proud of the teamwork, sportsmanship, and support that the students showed for each other. Well done to all our athletes!
This term, we also celebrated Book Week with a lively
dress-up parade! The creativity and effort that went into the costumes were incredible, and it was wonderful to see the students embracing their favourite characters from books. Thank you to all the parents for supporting this fun event!
In the classroom, our Grade 3/4 students have been hard at work on their information reports. They have chosen to write about an Olympic athlete and a country, which has allowed them to develop their research skills and learn how to organize and present information effectively. The students have shown great enthusiasm for this project, and we are impressed with their dedication and the quality of their work.
Thank you for your continued support in making this term such a success. We are looking forward to more exciting learning opportunities and events in the coming weeks!
