TheirCare

Before, After and Holiday Care @ St Mary's

Hello Families and Friends,

We are so excited to share with you all what we have been getting up to at TheirCare over the last few weeks. Further to this, we cannot wait to tell you all about the upcoming ‘Spring Carnivale!’ Holiday Program.

Week 5 – ‘Disney Dreams’

This week the room was buzzing with excitement. The children thoroughly enjoyed exploring the theme ‘Disney Dreams’ through a wide range of tactile mediums. Drawing away from our theme directly, this week the weather was absolutely beautiful, so we got to spend a lot of time outside enjoying all of the lovely sunshine. Whilst outside, the children have had lots of fun playing a range of group games: this includes ‘Number Off, Run If and Dragon’s Nest’. Drawing back in line with our theme of Disney, we spent majority of our mornings this week busy making arts and crafts. The children made their very own Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse emoticons. It was amazing to see how they would design the emoji before selecting a popsicle stick to stand it up on. This fun continued as the children made NEMO emoticons. After making these emoticons the children were inspired to keep making their own in all different shapes. It was insightful to see where their imagination took them.

Week 6 – ‘American Dream’

This week we finally able to share our upcoming Holiday Program with the children, parents and guardians of TheirCare. After this release of information, we have noticed an increased level of excitement from the children. Throughout this week in addition to this announcement we aligned our activities with the theme ‘American Dream’. After the tactile use of popsicle sticks in Week 5, we incorporated these mediums intro this week’s programming and the children made their very own popsicle stick smores. They had so much fun drawing little emoticon faces on their smores. The American themed craft continued as the children coloured in American Eagles and made their very own Statue of Liberty Crowns/Torches. The children have engaged in so many amazing crafts this week. When the weather allowed us to, they also had lots of fun dancing on the stage outside and playing “backyard” cricket.

Holiday Program

We are so excited to announce that this Term’s Holiday Program’s theme is ‘Spring Carnivale!’ Bookings for this program are officially open on FullyBooked. We are extremely lucky to be heading out on some fantastic excursions these Holidays whereby we will be going to the Movies (Wild Robot), Archery Attack and Luna Park! As always, there is also many ‘In House’ days with ranging themes that develop from the concept of Spring. The activities within these days branch from the ideas of Science, Craft and Sports. We are so excited to see all that the children will enjoy and look forward to seeing as many individuals at the program as possible.

Sun Safety

Being in Term 3, we would like to reassure all parents and guardians that we closely monitor the Temperature and UV Rays before engaging in outdoor play and Hats are worn as required. Further to this we continue to ensure that sunscreen is always applied, if your child requires a specific sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can accommodate for this!

Many Thanks,

Swaye and Ellie
