Production - Cinderella and Rockerfella:

Our whole school production for 2024  was a huge success!!! Below is a summary of the journey we went on to get there.

Dress Rehearsal:

We had a lot of fun bringing our costumes to school a practising our dances in the gym! We worked on getting the steps right for such a long time and it felt fantastic trying on our costumes and dancing in them.

Technnical Rehersal:

It was then time to travel to Burrinja and learn about how the lights, microphones, sets and music turns all of our hard work into a show!!! We got to have a turn learning where to stand and how to enter stage left and exiting stage right.

Show Night:

Night One: There was lots of nervous energy which filled the air, but our teachers kept us calm and we enjoyed watching the show on the big screen while we waited to perform! We had a lot of fun and realised it wasn't so scary.

Night Two: In the black box we waited patiently to go on stage and even managed our costume change in time to dance the night away! We coloured, watched the show, listened to stories and played games of Uno together to fill the time.

Thankyou Mrs Lang for all of your hard work in helping us become stars. Special thanks also to Mrs Haines for all of her costume, sound and lighting work, our amazing teachers and our families for their endless love and support.

Scienceworks:

On Monday August 19th, we all hopped on the bus and travelled over the Westgate Bridge to the Scienceworks Museum. We spent time visiting the general viewing area, which included fun, interactive exhibits such as 'building a robot', 'car building', and 'sound baths' which were a few examples of the things we could try. There was also the Sportsworks exhibition where we could try to race Cathy Freeman, power a skeleton riding a bike and participate in wheelchair sprints.  After lunch, we visited the Planetarium and went to Mars with our new friend 'Tyco' the dog. We learnt that Mars gets it's red dirt from the iron oxide that is in the ground, along with how planet Mars is extremely cold. After the show, we did some stargazing and made pictures out of the stars. We then looked at the nights sky in Melbourne and discovered planets such as Saturn. It was a wonderful day! Thankyou to the parent helpers and USPS staff member - Meagan for assisting the Year One and Two teachers with running the day and for their invaluable contributions to making the day a success.
