Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
In our last newsletter, we invited our community to take part in the annual Department of Education Opinion Survey.
Given the response rate below, we are seeking your input so that we may apply statistical validity to collated outcomes.
Please refer to the information below, which was included in our previous newsletter:
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 29th July to Friday 30th August 2024.
All families are invited to participate in the survey.
To complete a survey please:
1- Log onto the website: https://www.orima.com.au/parent
2- Enter the PIN is 784103
To provide our school with statistically valid data, please only complete one survey per family.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home.
Seeking input from families regarding our Student Progress Reports
As a school we are wanting to hear from parents/carers about what they value, what they think, and what they would like to see changed or improved in our student progress reports.
The first step in this process is inviting interested parents/carers to provide their input into the design of s set of survey questions which will be distributed to our school community in early Term Four, 2024.
If you are interested in contributing to the design of the survey brief, please email damien.kitch@education.vic.gov.au
John Monash Science School - Intake Three now underway
One of the great things about the learning culture of Upwey South Primary School is that our principal-class are active in classrooms, incursions, and excursions. Last week, I was fortunate to accompany the third intake of Year Six students who are taking part in the 'Big Science-Little Scientists" Immersion Program, held at John Monash Science School (JMSS). Throughout the remainder of this term, these four students will visit JMSS to explore concepts such as nanotechnology, aeronautics, chemical compositions, and modern scientific endeavours. These students from Intake Three will then join with our students from Intake Two, and take part in the JMSS Science Fair which is open to the public in late November, 2024. More details to follow as we enter Term Four.
Communicating with the Principal
