CONFIRMATION VISIT BY THE BISHOP

Last week Bishop Terry Curtin came and spoke to our Year 6 students in preparation for their Confirmation. Bishop Terry spoke about the power of the Holy Spirit - “never underestimate what the Holy Spirit can do through you”. He spoke about how we are challenged daily to do what we know is right, even when doing the right thing is difficult.  We continue to pray for our Year 6 students as they prepare to make their Confirmation.

A note was sent home this week with reminders from the parent information night, about the requirements for the Sacrament. Looking forward to sharing this wonderful celebration with the school/parish community.

Jesus is alive!

In Religious Education lessons students are learning about the events that happened in the 40 days after the resurrection of Jesus.

Over the coming weeks, RE lessons will focus on the Scripture of Jesus appearing to the disciples (see story below).  Students will also be learning about Jesus’ Ascension to heaven and the Pentecost story.

Jesus Appears on the Shore

One morning the disciples were fishing. They weren't catching any fish.

Jesus appeared on the shore. He said hello to the disciples. At first, they didn't recognise him.

Jesus told the disciples to throw the net on the other side of the boat. The disciples were not happy. But they did what Jesus had told them. To their surprise, they caught a lot of fish.

Then the disciples recognised that the man was Jesus. Their hearts filled with joy. They knew that Jesus was really alive.

Jesus told the disciples to bring some of the fish to the fire. Jesus cooked the fish. Then the disciples had breakfast with Jesus.
