Lion Awakening Ceremony

Miss S. Ta

On Wednesday, May 15th, something really special happened at St. Johns Park Public School! We had a Lion Dance Awakening Ceremony to mark the 'awakening' of our new school lions. This ceremony is a tradition that brings prosperity and good luck to our school. Parents and members of the community joined us to watch this exciting event.

We were honoured to have two special guests with us, Marianne Siokos, Director Educational Leadership, Cowpasture Network and Deb Summerhayes, Deputy Secretary, Public Education.

A big thank you goes out to our amazing team who made this event possible, especially Mr Pham and Miss Presot, and of course the talented and hard-working students in the Lion Dance Group. We're grateful for their hard work and dedication in making our school celebrations so memorable!

We also want to extend a huge thank you to everyone in the school and community for joining in the spirit of the day by wearing red or their national costumes. Your participation added so much to the festive atmosphere!

Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated on the day towards multicultural resources. A total of $941 was donated. Your contributions will help us to continue to enhance diversity and inclusivity within our school community.
