Lion Awakening Ceremony

On Wednesday 15 May, we held a special cultural ceremony - Lion Dance Awakening Ceremony. We were joined by special guests - Deb Summerhayes PSM, Deputy Secretary Public Schools and Marianne Siokos, Director Educational Leadership, Cowpasture Principal Network. The event was well-supported by our students, teachers and families through their attendance and donations.

I would like to thank Mr Pham and the Lion Dance Troupe, who were outstanding with their speeches and their first public performance after being 'awakened'. We look forward to further opportunities for the Troupe to perform in our community.

Selling items at school

Students should not be selling items such as stationery, food, drinks or toys to other students. This includes fundraising items for local clubs. Selling to others students can lead to issues and/or disagreements about price and value. School is not the place for these transactions. Students should only bring money to school to pay for excursions, sport, fundraising events or purchases from the canteen. It is important that parents monitor and perhaps limit how much money is being brought to school, especially for younger students.

Student Reports

Student progress reports will be sent out in Week 10 this term. We have made some changes to the reports for the new curriculum for English and mathematics as well as the comment sections for all Key Learning Areas. We will be holding two parent information sessions about the changes on Wednesday 5 June - 9.30 until 10.15am or 6.30 -7.15pm. Both sessions will be the same.
