Principal Reflections

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you had a relaxing and safe term break and that you were able to spend some quality time together with your family. It has been fantastic seeing the students return to school and settle quickly into Term 2. Term 2 is a reporting term and there are a number of important events coming up this term. Be sure to visit the school calendar to keep updated.

Many thanks to all who were able to attend the community's ANZAC March last Thursday. It was so great to see that students from K - 6 were able to represent St Ed's so wonderfully at the march. At the Town Hall service we were well represented by our student leaders, Louie Fernance and Charlotte Stuart.

Our students started the term with a lovely Anzac reflection at each campus. Many thanks to our school leaders and Mrs Clarke for their organisation of this event.

Staff Development Day

On Monday our staff welcomed Catherine Jackson to our school to facilitate a whole staff session on the importance of building a performance and learning culture in our school. During the sessions we discussed:

# What sort of culture we are building at St. Edward's School?

# As well as the importance of everyone playing their role in creating and protecting the culture.

# Peer accountability via our credo work.

The day was a very productive one and we look forward to continuing to grow and develop in our work in this space.

New Staff

We welcome Mrs Julie George to our teaching team this term. Mrs George will join the Year 2 team and I know that the children in 2G are very excited to work with Mrs George for the remainder of the year.

Staff News

Two lovely ladies from our teaching staff, Mrs Steph Crouch and Mrs Arnie Williams, have informed me of some exciting news. Steph is pregnant with a due date of the 15th September and Mrs Arnie Williams is also pregnant and she is also due in September. I know that next time you see Mrs Crouch and/or Mrs Williams you will congratulate them on this wonderful news.

Upcoming Events

Mothers' Day Liturgy and Picnic

Next week, we celebrate our annual Mothers' Day Liturgy and Picnic and will welcome hundreds of family members to the Primary Campus on Friday 10th May at 12.30pm. We welcome all mothers and mother figures to join us in this celebration! This is a time for us to come together and give thanks for the role that mothers play in our lives.

Until next week,

Keep smiling,

Alison Hatton
