Bebras Challenge

We are excited to invite students in years 3-6 at Trafalgar Primary School to participate in Round 1 of the Bebras Challenge at school on 06 May 2024.

The Bebras Challenge is an internationally recognized computational thinking competition that fosters problem-solving skills and logical reasoning. It promises a fun learning experience and the opportunity for recognition and achievement.

Benefits of Participation:

  • The Bebras Challenge presents a series of fun and thought-provoking problems that inspire students to think outside the box and devise innovative solutions.
  • Students will have the opportunity to enhance their computational thinking skills, which are essential in today's digital age.
  • The competition promotes logical reasoning and helps students develop a structured approach to tackle complex problems.
  • Participating students will receive certificates of participation, and top performers may be eligible for awards and recognition.
  • The Bebras Challenge is designed to be enjoyable, encouraging students to view problem-solving as an exciting challenge rather than a daunting task.

Participation in the Bebras Challenge is entirely voluntary. If your child is interested in taking part, forms have been sent home and need to be returned to the school by 29th April 2024.

We believe that this experience will be highly rewarding for your child, and we encourage their participation wholeheartedly. Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Ms Fiona Ross or visit the CSIRO Bebras website https://www.csiro.au/en/education/programs/digital-careers/bebras.

This term the challenge will commence;

  • Round 1 - between 23rd April - 9th May 2024
  • Round 2 - between 8th October - 24th October 2024

Mothers Day Stall

The Parents & Friends Committee will be holding their Mother's Day Stall on

Thursday 9th May, 9am-1pmahead of Mother's Day Sunday 12th May.

This year, we have some exciting new gift ideas for students to bring home to their loved ones. Students will have the opportunity to purchase gifts ranging from $1 to $6, with a spending limit of $10 and 2 gifts per student. There will be a second chance stall during recess on Friday 10th May for those students still wanting to purchase items for their mum, grandparent, carer or other loved ones.  Please ensure money is in a secure zip lock bag to help prevent students losing their money on the day.

If there are any dads that would be willing to help for either day it would be much appreciated - please contact us to let us know of your interest via email tpspandfsecretary@gmail.com

The Parents & Friends Committee thank you for your support.
