Performing Arts News
Hi Tarneit Rise families,
Prep students have been demonstrating their Performing Arts skills this term. In the last two weeks students have been focusing on music and drama. Last week they sang songs practising singing in time and in tune. They also used the percussion instruments to make a rhythm and follow the beat. This week the Prep students have been practising using their voice, facial expressions and body to act out a character from ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. The students all had a turn at performing and practising being a great audience member.
Grade 1 and 2 students have created shadow puppets and explored how to make their shadow using a torch. They have been practising using their voice to create characters with their shadow puppets. This week students have continued to use their shadow puppets at school to rehearse in small groups for their performance in week 6.
Grade 3 and 4 students have worked on developing their characters voice, body and movements both this week and last week. They are starting to use scripts or improvised scenarios to create short performances. They will continue to work on using their character in different improvisational situations.
Grade 5 and 6 students have started creating short films in small groups. Last week they came up with a quick plan and improvised scenes that they filmed for their short film. This week they edited their short films from the previous week and learnt about different angles and shots they can use while filming.
