OzHarvest FEAST Program
This term, the Grade 5 and 6 Healthy Living students have been participating in OzHarvest’s FEAST Program.
This exciting initiative aims to educate students about food waste, nutrition and sustainability, as well as equipping them with basic cooking skills. Over the last two weeks, students have been hard at work exploring the chemistry behind cooking and investigating food production.
So far, our students have enthusiastically embraced the program, diving into practical hands-on cooking classes that are both enriching and delicious! From crafting vibrant fruit skewers bursting with flavour, to perfecting the art of corn and pea fritters, our budding chefs have been on a culinary journey unlike any other. We look forward to seeing what they serve up next!
A big thank you to our fantastic volunteers so far, we couldn’t have done it without them!
We are still looking for a couple more volunteers for the last two cooking dates.
If you are interested in the program and are available to volunteer from 9-11:30 on Friday 24th or Friday 31st of May, please contact Claudia at claudia.caputo@education.vic.gov.au
Please note: you are required to have a current WWCC and provide your Volunteer Documentation to the front office.
