YEAR 10

WEEK 5: KEY INFORMATION

LAST WEEK

We are proud to share that our Year 10 Visual Arts students excelled in the Reef Guardian School REEFlection task. This task, designed to capture stories of connection to the Reef and embody the principles of being a Reef Guardian, encouraged creative and innovative submissions. I am delighted to share our students' achievements: 1st and 2nd place in Most Artistic REEFlection, 2nd place for the Most Creative Submission, and 1st place in Best Sea Country Connection. Additionally, six students received Honourable Mention, and eight earned Outstanding Contribution certificates. Congratulations to all participants on their outstanding achievements.

THIS WEEK

This week, as part of our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, students will focus on the concepts of grit and persistence. Engaging in various activities and discussions, they will explore the importance of perseverance in overcoming challenges and achieving goals. Through a deeper understanding of these qualities, we aim to equip our students with the resilience needed for academic and personal success.

LOOKING AHEAD

In Week 6, our Open Night provides an opportunity for prospective families to explore our College. As part of our dedication to student leadership development, we have extended an invitation to Year 10 students to consider serving as ushers for the event. Serving as an usher not only supports the College but also cultivates qualities of servant leadership, which can enhance students' resumes. All Year 10 students have been invited to express interest via a Google form, which was emailed. We appreciate your support in encouraging their participation.
