Reconciliation Week 2026
May 27th - 3rd June is National Reconciliation Week.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

Cross School Collaboration
Recently McCarthy Catholic College Aboriginal Studies students visited Boundary Rock at Moonbi, taking part in a meaningful day of learning on Gamilaroi Country. With the guidance of Amanda Gwalter AEA St Edwards Tamworth, students listened, learned and connected; gaining a deeper understanding of how cultural celebrations and gatherings keep culture strong and identity alive. As a cohort, students also experienced the importance of yarning and deep listening, taking the time to respectfully listen to stories and learn from each other.
Throughout the visit, students came to see Country as more than place and learned of the story behind the artwork. While at the rock, there were many butterflies present and their presence and significance strengthened the students’ sense of connection to Country and to Ancestors.
We are incredibly grateful to Amanda and St Edwards Primary School for generously sharing her time, knowledge and connection to Country.
National Indigenous Cricket Championship 2026
Congratulations to Karen Tighe, assistant coach of NSW Indigenous Women Cricket participating at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships in Mackay last month.
NSW were runners up in the grand final against Victoria. Karen is one of a handful of First Nation Women Cricket Coaches in NSW and was given a coaching scholarship by Cricket NSW Foundation's Indigenous Coaches Scholarship Program.
The program reinforces Cricket NSW’s commitment to strengthening coaching pathways and expanding development opportunities across the state.
She has a passion for coaching and mentoring young girls and women in sport and encourages them to take up any given opportunities that may come their way on or off the sporting field.
