Serving Up Success: Bella Shines at Regional Tennis

On Thursday 30 April, Bella proudly represented Trafalgar Primary School at the Gippsland Regional Schools Tennis Cup at the Traralgon Tennis Centre, competing against some of the strongest young tennis players from across the region.

Regional tennis is a challenging format, requiring students to compete in a series of singles matches that test skill, consistency, resilience, and composure under pressure. Bella rose to that challenge brilliantly, producing a number of strong performances throughout the day and finishing with 2 wins from 6 matches — a wonderful achievement at such a high level of competition.

Just as importantly, Bella represented Trafalgar Primary School with great sportsmanship and determination, showing the kind of character we are so proud to celebrate. Competing at regional level is a fantastic achievement in itself, and Bella should be incredibly proud of her efforts.

Congratulations Bella, on an outstanding day of tennis and on representing our school so well. 🎾👏

The Arts Are Alive!

Hi all and welcome back to another week in the Art Room!

This week Foundation students have been mixing coloured inks with washing liquid to create bubble prints. The bubbles pop on the paper to make some fun potion art.

Grade One have been finishing off their space scenes adding rockets and a bit of tin foil for shine and sparkle. Their autumn leaf images from last week also look amazing with the addition of yellow and red inks to make the leaves really stand out.

Grade 2 finished off their leaf drawings as well and are now working on Autumn burrows. These are full of vibrant reds and yellows, oil pastel leaves and soon they will have sleepy little creatures added. They are going to look so good when done.

Grade 3 mixed media cactus pots are coming along with classes at the assembly stage. Last week, students painted their landscape backgrounds, and this week they will finish off their pots and cactus, cutting them out and gluing them onto their backgrounds.

Grade 4 have almost finished off their neurographic insect pictures. They are choosing their pops of colour to add with oil pastel, and they are starting to look really good.

Grades 5 and 6 are doing an amazing job of their oil pastel element dragons. The colours and blending of the oil pastel look so smooth and vibrant. We can’t wait to see them all finished.

Have a great week and don’t forget to be creative!

Do It For Dolly Fundraiser

What a wonderful sight it was on our Do it for Dolly Day fundraiser, to see a sea of blue throughout our school.

Thank you for your enthusiasm and for the generous donations, as a school we raised $345.00. What an amazing effort!

Our new junior school councillors for the remainder of 2026 and the first term of 2027 were announced at assembly. This year students made a speech to their fellow classmates, indicating why they would like to apply for junior school council and what would make them an ideal candidate. It was a very hard decision with so many excellent candidates.

Congratulations to the following students –

Carter M, Ollie O, Harriet K, Rowan B, Gracie G, Layla W, Ted C, Eloise G, Darcy R, Jack VB, Liam P, Ally V and Rylee M.

I am looking forward to working with you all.

From Mrs Sneddon.
