Mother's Day — A Moment Worth Marking
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that all the mums and special women in our school community felt well and truly celebrated yesterday.
Mother's Day is one of those occasions that doesn't need a lot of dressing up. It means something. For most of us, our mum is the person who has had the single greatest influence on who we are and that's worth stopping to acknowledge.
To the Mums in Our Community
On behalf of the whole school, a genuine thank you to every mother who is part of our community. What you do for your kids and the quiet, consistent effort that goes into it doesn't go unnoticed. We see it every day in the children you're raising, and we're proud to be working alongside you.
I also hope you got a decent sleep in yesterday. You've earned it.
It's Not Just About Mums
One thing I always think is worth saying around this time of year is that Mother's Day means something a little different for everyone. For many of our kids, the most important person in their life might be a grandmother, an aunty, an older sister, a stepmum, or a family friend who has simply always been there. Those relationships are just as real and just as worthy of celebration.
If your child came home with a card or a gift for someone like that, good on them and good on you for raising a kid who knows who matters in their life.
A Big Thank You to Our PCA
I've been away from school this past week, but I've heard nothing but great things. A huge thank you to our PCA for organising another fantastic Mother's Day stall. Events like this take a lot of behind the scenes work and it's very much appreciated by our families and students. The fact that it keeps happening year after year is a credit to the volunteers who make it possible.
Here's to a great week ahead.
Please feel free to pop in for a chat with either Carrie, Brendan or I, should you wish to discuss anything.
Our doors are always open!
Take care,
Mr. Dale Blythman
