Tribes Session: Learning About Empathy
On Monday, we held our second Tribes session for the year. At POPS, each student is part of a multi-age Tribes group led by the same teacher throughout their time at the school. These groups help build a strong sense of connection and belonging across year levels.
Our Year 6 students take on a leadership role in these sessions, supported by their group teacher.
This week’s focus was on empathy. Students explored how Guide Dogs are trained and how they support people with vision impairments to live independently and be active members of the community.

Guide Dogs Victoria is offering a prize for the organisation that raises the most money to name a litter of puppies. As part of this exciting initiative, our school has the amazing opportunity to name a future Guide Dog—but only if we raise the most money!
