Upper Primary (Years 5-6)
Upper Primary students have been working hard all Term to earn Jackpoints for displaying the Jackson School values of Respect, Responsibility, Safety, Learning and Independence. As a reward last Wednesday, everyone enjoyed participating in a movie day with popcorn. On Friday 21st June, students participated in a drumming incursion to celebrate World Music Day. On Monday 23rd June, police officers from Caroline Springs came and spoke to the students about being safe online and cyberbullying. It has been a very busy Term, and students and teachers are all looking forward to the holidays!
Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)
As we wrap up the Term, it’s been an exciting couple of weeks in the Year 7/8 space!
Last week, we were lucky to enjoy an African drumming incursion. Students had an amazing time learning about traditional rhythms and instruments. There was lots of laughter, clapping, and energy as everyone had a go at drumming along!
This week, we ventured out on a travel training excursion to the movies. The students practised their independence and community skills as they travelled by bus, purchased their tickets, and ordered their snacks. Everyone enjoyed popcorn and a drink while watching Elio, a heartwarming and exciting animated film. It was a big hit, and the whole day ran smoothly thanks to the students' excellent behaviour and positive attitudes. It was a very successful travel training experience, and we were so proud of how well everyone represented our school.
We’d also like to give a big shoutout to our Students of the Week! These students have been recognised for showing our school values:
- Justin and Sam T – for showing Respect in and out of the classroom
- Lorenc – for Learning and trying his best
- Sam B. – for consistently showing Safety in the yard and during activities
Well done to all our award recipients – keep up the great work!
