Dear Leighland Christian School Families

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope the holiday break provided rest, refreshment, and time to enjoy God’s creation. Over the break, I had the privilege of spending time in the breathtaking mountains of New Zealand. As I stood in awe of their majesty, I was reminded of Psalm 121:1-2: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

This verse is a beautiful reminder that our strength and guidance come from the Lord, who created all things and walks with us through every season.

We’ve had a wonderful start to the term, beginning with the CEN State Conference. It was an uplifting, encouraging, and challenging time for our staff as we gathered with colleagues from across Tasmania to grow in our calling as Christian educators. We are grateful for the opportunity to be inspired and equipped for the term ahead.

A special congratulations to our Year 10 students who have just completed their work experience placements! This is a significant milestone in their real-world education journey, and we are proud of the way they represented our school in various workplaces. Their experiences will no doubt shape their understanding of future pathways and personal growth. We also extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated staff who supported the students with organising these placements and who took the time to visit students during their experiences. Your support and care make a lasting impact.

Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who participated in our Parent Teacher Meetings l week. Your engagement is deeply appreciated and reflects the heart of our school—education is a partnership. Together, we nurture and support each child’s learning, character, and faith development.

Looking ahead, we have a number of exciting events on the horizon:

  • Subject Information Night was a great success, celebrating student choice through the diverse and engaging subject options available to students in Years 7-12 in 2026.
  • Book Week is just around the corner in August—get those costumes ready for a week of literary fun and creativity!
  • Science Week will feature a range of hands-on activities and experiments across the school that showcase the wonder and intrigue of science.
  • Our LEGO League teams will soon begin training sessions in preparation for the regional competition next term. We’re excited to see their innovation and teamwork in action!

We look forward to another exciting and busy term at Leighland Christian School. May it be filled with growth, joy, and God’s continued guidance.

Warm regards,
