Digital Leadership in Action: Yasmin London Inspires Year 12 Students
This Wednesday, our academic session was enriched by a powerful and thought-provoking presentation from Yasmin London, CEO of The Digital Fluency Group and a leading voice in digital safety and leadership. Yasmin engaged with our Year 12 students in a dynamic and interactive discussion on navigating the digital world with courage, resilience, and integrity.
Drawing from her diverse background as a world champion athlete, NSW Police Force officer, and global brand director, Yasmin brought a unique blend of experience and authenticity to the conversation. Her message focused on how young women can critically engage with social media as a source of news, maintain safe online practices, and combat negativity bias through “action as the antidote to anxiety.”
Her key takeaways included practical recommendations for digital safety tools such as Perplexity and Claude, which support informed and secure online engagement. She also highlighted innovations like Fides watermarks on TikTok, which help verify content authenticity and reduce misinformation.
Students were captivated by Yasmin’s bold and practical approach to digital wellbeing. She emphasised the importance of developing critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and digital literacy to thrive in today’s interconnected world. Through real-life examples and engaging storytelling, she encouraged students to take ownership of their digital presence and use technology as a tool for growth and positive impact.
Yasmin also shared compelling research on the power of female leadership, noting that women leaders consistently make better decisions - ones that lead to stronger financial outcomes over time - reinforcing the value of inclusive leadership in shaping a better future.
We are incredibly grateful to Yasmin London for her commitment to youth empowerment and digital safety. Her session was a memorable highlight of our academic calendar and a catalyst for ongoing learning and leadership development of our Loreto girls.
