We wish our Grade 1 & 2 Families a very happy winter holiday! We look forward to seeing you in Term 3. It would be great over the holidays if you could please bring a box of tissues and packet of wipes with your child on the first day back for our classroom supply.

📚 Phonemic awareness: reading and phonics

Grade One Students 

Grade One's will be learning about open and closed syllables.

Grade Two's will look at the sound au, aw and augh making an 'or' sound. We will also be completing a vowel team review.

 📖✏️Literacy

Mentor Text: Zog by Julia Donaldson

This week we will be focusing on sequencing the story and looking at the rhyming words throughout the story and rich vocabulary. 

What can you do at home?

-Nessy is a great resource to use to supplement your child's reading in a fun engaging way on their iPad

-Ask comprehension questions about your child's take home book or a book you read together 

➕Maths

As it is the last week of Term we will be reviewing taught concepts for the term. 

What can you do at home?

-Engage with mathseeds (Grade One) or mathletics (Grade Two)

🌏 CBL - Diversity 

Our Grade 1 & 2 students are coming together to have a dance party and celebrate the learning of 'Diversity'!
